The Chelsea manager has provided a status update on Romeo Lavia’s fitness following a midweek thigh injury.

Following his high-profile move from Southampton in the summer, Lavia joined Stamford Bridge with hopes of leading a new, youthful Chelsea side. However, the 19-year-old faced immediate injury setbacks, spending a significant portion of the season on the bench. After a prolonged recovery period, he finally made his debut but sustained a late-game knock against Crystal Palace.

Mauricio Pochettino expressed concern about the player’s injury right after the match and has now offered another update ahead of the upcoming clash with Luton Town, stating, “I’m a little bit worried,” as reported by Football.London.

“I can’t say for sure because, during the game against Crystal Palace, I had to adjust Lavia’s position towards the end as he was having difficulty running. We’ll have to assess the situation. Chelsea supporters will be pleased with the comeback of another key signing, Christopher Nkunku, who has quickly adapted to the London club.

Rob Edwards’s team won’t be easy opponents for the Blues this Saturday afternoon, especially at Kenilworth Road, as they aim for three consecutive victories.”
