Conor Gallagher, a midfield player for Chelsea, is supposedly set to turn down a move away from the team in January due to connections with Tottenham.

Gallagher has been a vital member of the Blues team under manager Mauricio Pochettino this season, but there has been a lot of discussion on his long-term future due to his contract issue.

Although there are no formal talks underway, Fabrizio Romano has stated that Tottenham is interested, and it appears unlikely that a transfer will occur in January.

The Evening Standard reports that Gallagher is anticipated to turn down any interest from rival teams because Mauricio Pochettino values the England international’s contribution to the team, with the player currently carrying the captain’s armband while Reece James is out with an injury.

What next for Conor Gallagher?

Fans would be upset if Gallagher moved to a rival London team like Spurs because he is one of several elite players who have just come through Chelsea’s system.
