The most recent news out of France claims that Manchester United is hoping to complete the transfer of Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo.

The French centre back has performed admirably in Ligue 1, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see him make a significant move soon given his significant growth since a terrible period spent at Barcelona as a young player early in his career.

In addition to being linked to Chelsea, Ben Jacobs stated in his Si Phillips Talks Chelsea blog that the 24-year-old would probably cost around €60 million. Now, Foot Mercato reports that Todibo is a dream goal for Manchester United.

After a dismal season, United could certainly use to fix their defensive problems. The injury to Lisandro Martinez has proved to be a major blow, as Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane, and Jonny Evans haven’t shown much promise in his place.

Jean-Clair Todibo to Manchester United or Chelsea?

Todibo seems like a good addition for MUFC, but there would also undoubtedly be room for him at Stamford Bridge, where Thiago Silva needs a long-term replacement after a difficult season.

To be fair, neither United nor Chelsea appear to be the powers they once were, so it’s unclear if Todibo would decide to join them or wait for better offers.
