Sir Jim Ratcliffe might approve Man United’s historic first-round trade to Nice.

According to reports, Nice, who are owned by new Manchester United minority stakeholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe, are interested in loaning out one of the team’s players.

On Christmas Eve, INEOS CEO Stephen Ratcliffe reached an agreement to purchase a 25% share in United, and he will take charge of the football department at Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag will need to let go of players before adding to United’s roster because the team is now seventh in the Premier League and is subject to Financial Fair Play regulations.

These don’t always have to be long-term assignments. According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, United may approve player loans in order to temporarily remove them from the payroll.

Winger Facundo Pellistri is one player who may be leaving; Ornstein confirmed the French team’s interest in him during an appearance on The Five Insider.

“Now that the club is together with INEOS, they’ll have to strategize if they can do some more [transfers],” he said to former Red Devils defender Rio Ferdinand. The funds, in my opinion, don’t let them accomplish much more.

“I am aware that several other clubs are interested in [Facundo] Pellistri from Nice. While it doesn’t significantly improve the finances, it does provide some extra space in the squad

After being persuaded to transfer to the Premier League by former United striker Diego Forlan, Pellistri joined the team from Uruguayan team Penarol.

The 22-year-old has never made an impression in the starting lineup and was not good enough during his two La Liga loan stints with Deportivo Alaves.

Just two days into the transfer window, United has already been able to cut down on the amount of players in their squad.
