Despite certain transfer reports regarding Paris Saint-Germain, Newcastle United is still in the running to get Kalvin Phillips, a midfielder for Manchester City.

According to Fabrizio Romano’s most recent intelligence, which he revealed exclusively to CaughtOffside for his Daily Briefing column today, Newcastle supporters may find solace in his most recent revelation.

Although Phillips isn’t playing much for Man City and it has seemed inevitable that he would leave, it appears Romano is unaware of any real developments with PSG, contrary to reports from other sources, as the reporter maintains Newcastle is still very much in the running for the England international.

Although Phillips seems like a strong fit for Eddie Howe’s style of play, it appears Romano is not ruling out Juventus as a suitor for the 28-year-old come January. The Magpies might use cover in midfield following Sandro Tonali’s ban.

Romano has also stated that this will not be an inexpensive agreement, and even if Phillips isn’t a regular in the first squad, City is obviously not going to back down on this one.

Despite speculations, Romano stated, “I’m not aware of talks between Man City and PSG for Kalvin Phillips as of yet.”

“Juventud and Newcastle are still in the running; they are both interested in Phillips. The only difference is that the loan deal is expensive, therefore everything hinges on it. Phillips will depart City, anyway.
