After Cristiano Ronaldo abruptly departed Manchester United at the beginning of 2023, there was much criticism surrounding his departure. However, one player who left shortly after Ronaldo feels the Portuguese player should have felt valued at Old Trafford.

When the previous season began, it was clear that Ronaldo was no longer good enough to play in the Premier League, and as a result, Erik ten Hag, the new manager, benched the senior player.

The superstar didn’t take it lightly, as was to be anticipated, and his absence from the starting lineup caused issues for the team. Subsequently, Ronaldo conducted a contentious interview with Piers Morgan prior to departing for Al Nassr in January 2023.

Speaking of the great striker, former Manchester United player Eric Bailly feels that Ronaldo should have felt valued at the top team in the Premier League.

Bailly stated via GOAL in an interview with The Athletic that “a player like Cristiano deserves to feel important.”
Ronaldo is a football great who deserves all of the honours and recognition bestowed upon him during his career, but no team should treat him differently than others.
Near the end of his second spell at Old Trafford, the superstar behaved very immaturely, and many believe Ten Hag handled the situation brilliantly.
