For the first time in their storied 138-year existence, Arsenal will defy convention and wear an all-white uniform at home.

The reason for the change, according to the official Arsenal website, is that the team is once more participating in the “No More Red” campaign, which aims to reduce knife violence.

While the Gunners have made adjustments when playing away from the Emirates Stadium in the last two seasons, Mikel Arteta’s team will appear more like Tottenham Hotspur, their next-door neighbours, this time around.

Arsenal’s decision to unveil the design during their FA Cup 3rd Round match against Liverpool will have all eyes on them.

It is evident that the Gunners are hoping that the message is received loud and clear because the game will also be shown on television during prime Sunday time, when no other games are scheduled.

Arsenal has also said that the jersey would never be sold and that a custom community t-shirt will be offered in its place in order to preserve its exclusivity.

The charity involved in the campaign will receive a portion of the profits from the sales of the t-shirts.
