Thiago Silva is not likely to sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge, thus Chelsea has already begun to prepare for his departure this summer.

The 39-year-old has been with the West London team since 2020, during which time he has made 137 appearances and won important awards including the Champions League.

According to Football Insider, the defender is not anticipated to sign a new contract with Chelsea, and the team has started making plans to replace him this summer.

Sporting CP defender Ousmane Diomande, who has a £70 million release clause in his contract with the Portuguese powerhouses, is one player the Premier League team is keeping an eye on.

Although it seems doubtful, it is said Chelsea is eager to plan a move for the 20-year-old this month.

Chelsea want to sign Ousmane Diomande

Since joining Sporting in January of last year, Diomande has developed into a vital member of the Portuguese team.
This would be Chelsea’s fourth significant center-back acquisition at £70 million, having already signed Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashille, and Wesley Fofana in recent transfer windows.
If a deal is reached, the 20-year-old should be one of the final parts of the Blues’ defensive jigsaw, but nothing is ever guaranteed at Stamford Bridge.
