The actual actual Madrid defender Ferland Mendy is reportedly being pursued by Manchester United and Chelsea.

Only nine league games this season have seen the 28-year-old left-back start for the Spanish team due to his struggles to get regular playing time.

He has, of course, been connected to the departure from Santiago Bernabeu. According to a Fichajes report, he may be able to leave through the two English clubs. For him, Real Madrid can want for about €55 million.

It goes without saying that Chelsea needs to bolster their full-back lineup with more capable players. Since joining the team, Marc Cucurella has mostly disappointed, and Ian Maatsen’s departure has been rumoured in recent weeks. Mendy might be the best Ben Chilwell replacement at Stamford Bridge come football season.

Luke Shaw’s availability has been a source of some anxiety for Manchester United, as the Red Devils require further depth at the position.

Ferland Mendy in action for Real Madrid

Whether Chelsea and Manchester United are willing to guarantee him playing time is still up in the air. It is improbable that the 28-year-old would like to sign with a team where he might not get many starts. The French international needs to play frequently at this point in his career.
The defender will seek to solidify his spot in the starting lineup for the national team because the European championships are scheduled for later this year. To make that happen, he will need to play frequently, therefore joining the Premier League might be the best option for him.
