MANCHESTER CITY
The star of Manchester City is still the Saudi Pro League clubs’ “top priority.”
Kevin De Bruyne is still being linked to a high-profile transfer to the Pro League in Saudi Arabia.
The seasoned midfield player has been linked to an unexpected departure at the end of the season. Last season, he helped lead Manchester City to an overwhelming treble.
The 32-year-old made his return during today’s FA Cup Third Round matchup against Huddersfield. He had missed the majority of the season due to an acute hamstring injury that he sustained on the opening day of the season.
The Belgian international’s contract expires in just 18 months, and there have been no indications of a renewal, therefore there are still whispers that he may leave the Etihad.
Regarded as a “top priority” for the biggest and wealthiest clubs in the Middle East, Manchester City’s number 17 could become the latest big-name to leave European football in the coming months, but Saudi clubs are still hopeful they can lure the veteran midfielder away from Manchester once summer arrives, according to a recent report from Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke.
