Mason Greenwood gives rare interview after winning first award during loan spell with Getafe

Mason Greenwood, who won an award while on loan at Getafe, recently participated in an unusual interview.
The Manchester United academy graduate was told he had no future at Old Trafford, so he spent the season on loan with Getafe.
United made its decision in response to the CPS dropping charges of attempted rape, assault, and controlling, coercive behaviour following the withdrawal of a key witness and the discovery of new material.
Since then, Greenwood—who has angrily refuted the accusations—has moved to Spain in an attempt to restart his career.
The 22-year-old has played in 15 games since joining Getafe in September, tallying five goals and dishing out four assists. Thanks to his outstanding play in December, he was chosen Player of the Month for Getafe by La Liga supporters.
Greenwood discussed his life in Spain and the support he has received from the Getafe club’s supporters with the media in a rare interview.
Greenwood said: “Everything’s fine, I adapted pretty quickly. My team-mates took me under their wing and I’ve just been happy ever since coming here, training and playing the games.
“The fans mean a lot to me. The best feeling so far is when I scored my first goal here at the stadium and it meant a lot to me, I heard the fans quite a lot.
“Also we had the training day and a lot of fans came out and watched so we always appreciate the fans, they’re like an extra man out there on the pitch when they’re out there supporting us.”
Greenwood’s future remains uncertain with Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan having all been linked with the forward in recent months.
Furthermore, according to the Sun, Barcelona is considering a trade of £40 million and is willing to give the striker Lionel Messi’s renowned No. 10 shirt in exchange for his services.
Eight times Winner of the Ballon d’Or After Messi departed Barcelona in August 2021, La Masia alumnus Ansu Fati took up his number.
However, since Fati came to Brighton on loan in September, it has remained unowned.
