Liverpool and Jürgen Klopp sent warning as Pep Guardiola does something you ‘very rarely see’

Following Kevin De Bruyne’s triumphant return to duty for Manchester City on Saturday, which delighted Pep Guardiola, Rio Ferdinand has issued a warning to Liverpool.

Rio Ferdinand claims that Liverpool’s ambitions of winning the league title have just been severely damaged. He emphasised that Liverpool and other rivals are on edge as a result of Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne’s comeback.

After missing just 23 minutes of the season due to a hamstring injury, De Bruyne made a spectacular comeback in his second Premier League game of the year. The gifted midfield player saved the day as Manchester City defeated Newcastle United 3-2.

His influence was felt right away. He entered the game in the 69th minute with his team behind 2-1. Within five minutes, he scored, and in added time, he provided the perfect pass to Oscar Bobb for the winner. As a result, Liverpool’s lead at the top of the table was reduced to two points.

Without De Bruyne, Manchester City hasn’t been the same team in recent weeks. However, it’s now prepared to go on a winning streak in order to maximise his comeback. Following the match yesterday, Ferdinand stated on TNT Sports:

You don’t often see Pep Guardiola as enthusiastic as he was today. One thing is for sure, that man [De Bruyne]—you’re back, you really are. You’re back, and you’re the crown jewel. Look at us now; these people are aware of what to do as momentum starts to build.

“These guys know when to put the pedal to the floor and it looks like now everybody is going to be looking over their shoulders and saying, ‘They are coming’. They know how to get the job done, they have the experience, the depth, the class, the quality and the firepower. Formidable.”

Ferdinand gave his predictions for this season’s Premier League champion back in October. “City will win, in my opinion. I can’t lie; Arsenal is there and they have a solid chance. Arsenal has a very good chance. Actually, I would really like for Arsenal to win it this year,” he said on Vibe with Five.

“Because that would mean City don’t win four in a row. I’d actually prefer Spurs. Come on Ange, come on Ange, I am Spurs mad. This geezer’s brought something into that squad that we haven’t seen for a long time.

“They were pining for Pochettino at one point, they’ve moved on now. They’ve moved on and now they’ve got a guy who they believe in. We’re eight games in so I’m not going to get carried away, but there’s such an uplift at that football club because of what that man has done.”
