MANCHESTER CITY
Manchester City Player had just left Ethihad Stadium this afternoon to join West Ham after rejecting a move to Juventus

West Ham is reportedly in talks to sign a £45 million player, according to Sky Sports News. Kalvin Phillips, a midfielder for Manchester City, is reportedly in talks to sign for West Ham United.
The Englishman’s lack of playing time for Pep Guardiola’s team has led to rumours in recent weeks that he may be leaving the Manchester club.
After being connected to teams like Juventus and Newcastle United, a different team is now attempting to sign the midfield player.
West Ham in talks to sign Phillips
According to Sky Sports News, talks between the two clubs are currently centred around the conditions of a potential deal for Phillips.
West Ham reportedly launched a £55 million effort to recruit Phillips from Leeds United during the January 2022 transfer window, but they were eventually unable to add the winger to their roster.
ADVANCED CITY STORIES
This makes it understandable why the Hammers are hoping to sign him this time around.
The England international cost £45 million when he joined City in the summer of 2022. Despite this, he has made 31 appearances for the Citizens in all competitions, however only six of them have been starts.
Given that Guardiola stated in December that he finds it difficult to picture Phillips in his ideal City squad, it makes sense that the 27-year-old’s possible January departure would be imminent.
If West Ham manages to sign a contract for Phillips, they will need to make sure they accept these terms and abide by them, even though the player is hoping for regular playing time and City is supposedly hoping to earn a £7 million loan fee.
In terms of the remaining January transfer window, the ideal situation for all involved would be if a team could work out a reasonable agreement with City to release Phillips this month and provide him with the playing time
