Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, a winger for Napoli, is being pursued by Chelsea, according to sources who spoke to ESPN.

Numerous European teams, including Manchester City, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Newcastle United, are reportedly interested in signing the 22-year-old. Earlier this year, he helped Napoli win their first Serie A title since 1990 with 14 goals and 17 assists in 43 games.

Kvaratskhelia’s transfer would fit Chelsea’s plan to pursue young players with a lot of promise.

Nevertheless, because the Georgian winger is under contract with the team until 2027 and because negotiations are reportedly going well for a new contract with better terms, Napoli will be well-positioned to reject any formal proposals.

According to sources, Napoli values Kvaratskhelia at well over €100 million ($124.8 million). While Chelsea would theoretically not be discouraged by that price, they have little leeway under FIFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations. Their 2024 budget will also be contingent on a number of variables, such as whether or not they advance to the next season’s European competition.

In addition, Chelsea has additional targets in the summer window. Brentford striker Ivan Toney is one of the attackers on Chelsea’s wish list, along with Kvaratskhelia’s Napoli teammate Victor Osimhen.
