In a La Liga match versus Getafe, a star from Osasuna scored a goal from the most unexpected of angles.

With the aim of winning their second straight La Liga match, Osasuna welcomed Getafe to the El Sadar on Sunday.

With 22 points from their first 19 games, the host team was ranked 12th in the table heading into kickoff and looking to catch up to Getafe, who were in 10th position.

And with the scores tied at 2-2 in the eighty-first minute, Osasuna Jesus Areso turned hero status by scoring the game’s winning goal from the most peculiar of angles.

The right-back galloped down the flank towards the corner flag, and under pressure from Jordi Martín, fired a speculative shot over the head of Getafe shot-stopper David Soria and into the far corner.

The Osasuna fans celebrated joyfully after the strike, which was probably intended to be a cross.

The Viaplay pundit was stunned by the strike in the meanwhile.

Describing the goal he said: “Areso to the corner hoping to win one, and instead he puts it in off the post from an impossible angle.

“What in the world was that? Jesus Arseso just made the impossible look routine.

“It’s goal of the year worthy. It might not have been on purpose but it sure does not matter.”
