Real Madrid want to sign second Manchester City player after ‘top target’ Erling Haaland, it’s his dream move
According to sources in Spain, Florentino Perez’s star-studded transfer list at Real Madrid includes Erling Haaland as one of two Manchester City players.
The Norwegian striker, who signed a five-year contract with Manchester City in 2022, is still being linked to a high-profile transfer to the Bernabeu.
In fact, according to Spanish outlet AS, he may be made available to non-English clubs this summer for as little as £86 million due to a two-tiered release clause.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Haaland’s entourage has already begun preliminary conversations with Los Blancos, and they are reportedly going “wonderfully”.
Rafaela Pimenta, Haaland’s agent, commented on speculation, saying: “I think it is not necessary to say that Erling does what he wants. It is not true. Erling is always going to do what is good for him and for his club, Manchester City.”
As well as the prolific striker and another top transfer target, Kylian Mbappe, Madrid are said to be interested in bringing Manchester City full-back Yan Couto to the Spanish capital.
Couto, who signed a three-month loan deal with Girona, the top team in La Liga, has been a notable player for Michel’s team this year, scoring two goals and dishing out six assists in 23 games.
The 21-year-old defender was called up to the Brazil squad due to his performance for Los Blanquivermells, and he played in World Cup qualifying matches against Uruguay and Venezuela.
And the highly-rated Couto, who joined City from Coritiba in 2020 for £5.5 million, is being tracked by Real Madrid, according to Marca.
The Spanish outlet says he ‘fits the profile of a position to be reinforced’ as Dani Carvajal enters the prime years of his career. They also claim his level is ‘spectacular’.
“The reports that are in the club in relation to the Brazilian are positive, but at the moment it has not gone beyond the phase of gathering information,” the newspaper adds.
Real Madrid are also believed to be following Lille defender Leny Yoro and Antonio Silva from Benfica. Sporting CP’s Goncalo Inacio is mentioned, too.
She added: “When everyone is willing to make a change, it will be done.”
