Fans disgusted with what Chelsea’s players did to their own mascot vs Liverpool
Outraged football supporters online expressed their disgust at the behavior of Chelsea players towards their own mascot during the team’s match against Liverpool. The incident occurred following Chelsea’s devastating 4-1 loss at Anfield, where Liverpool dominated the game to secure three points. Goals from Diogo Jota, Conor Bradley, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Luis Diaz contributed to Liverpool’s victory, with Christopher Nkunku scoring a consolation goal for Chelsea. Following the match, a video surfaced on social media showing Chelsea players mistreating their own mascot, leaving fans shocked and appalled.
Video footage captured the poignant moment when Chelsea players left their own mascot behind to gather for a team huddle before kick-off. Following the huddle, as the players returned to their positions on the pitch, they inadvertently abandoned the mascot, who watched on before jogging off the field. The irony of the situation was palpable as the anthem “You’ll Never Walk Alone” resonated throughout the stadium.
Social media erupted with criticism, with even Chelsea fans expressing disappointment at the club’s treatment of the young mascot. One supporter, Rory Jennings, expressed his frustration, stating, “Not one of these overpaid w**kers keeping an eye out for the kid…” Another Twitter user echoed similar sentiments, commenting, “Yep feel for him, that’s really poor from Chelsea.”
The backlash continued on social media, with another user expressing concern for the young mascot, stating, “Being left in the middle of a pitch surrounded by 60,000 fans must be terrifying for a kid. Not one of our players went up to him to help either.” Another user suggested disciplinary action, saying, “If I was the gaffer here I’d be hauling the lot of them in and giving them a talking to for this well and truly.” Meanwhile, another comment summed up the frustration, stating, “This literally sums up everything that is wrong with Chelsea Football Club at the moment.” Chelsea’s disappointing season, marked by nine league losses and their current 10th-place position, only added fuel to the fans’ frustration.
