Kylian Mbappe’s team explore Liverpool and Arsenal moves as Real Madrid deal hits ‘stumbling block’

Kylian Mbappe’s potential move to Real Madrid has encountered obstacles, prompting considerations of transfers to Arsenal and Liverpool, according to reports. Initially set on joining Real Madrid upon the expiration of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain this summer, Mbappe’s admiration for Bernabéu icons Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo fueled his desire to play for the Spanish club. Nonetheless, new developments have surfaced.

As per the Independent, negotiations between Mbappe and Real Madrid are ongoing, but they are facing challenges in reaching an agreement on the salary terms.

Despite the growing expectation at PSG that the 25-year-old will eventually move to the Bernabeu, an agreement between Mbappe and Real Madrid is still far from being reached, according to the publication. Consequently, Mbappe’s representatives have reportedly begun exploring potential transfers to Liverpool and Arsenal.

However, it has been asserted that neither Premier League club is willing to exceed their wage structure in order to sign the French captain.

Meanwhile, PSG reportedly still have an offer on the table for Mbappe, although it is believed to not represent a significant increase compared to his current deal.

The French giants express their desire for Mbappe to remain with the club, but they are reluctant to be held hostage by his contract demands, particularly as the club is seeking to embark on a new strategic direction.

Mbappe appeared poised to join Madrid in May 2022, but surprised many by reversing course and signing a new two-year contract with PSG. However, tensions between him and the Ligue 1 side arose last summer when he informed them that he would not be activating a clause in his contract that would extend his stay in Paris until 2025. Consequently, Mbappe is set to become a free agent in the summer of 2024.
