Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he would forego his scheduled sabbatical and return to coaching next season if approached by a prominent European club. This announcement came in January, surprising the football world, when Klopp declared his impending departure from Liverpool at the end of the season, citing a depletion of energy.

He expressed, “It is that I am, how can I say it, running out of energy. I have no problem now, obviously, I knew it already for longer that I will have to announce it at one point, but I am absolutely fine now. I know that I cannot do the job again and again and again and again.”

Klopp, who has enjoyed immense success at Liverpool, clinching both the Champions League and Premier League titles during his nine-year tenure, disclosed his intention to take a hiatus from the sport. Additionally, he stated that he has no plans to manage another English side in the future.

Klopp made it clear that he currently has no intention of managing another club, stating, “If you ask me, ‘Will you ever work as a manager again?’ I would say now, no. But I don’t know obviously how that will feel because I never had the situation. What I know definitely – I will never, ever manage a different club in England than Liverpool, 100 per cent. That’s not possible.”

However, according to transfer expert Gerard Romero, there is one exception to Klopp’s stance. Romero suggests that Klopp would entertain the idea of an immediate return to management next season if Barcelona were to express interest in his services.

Romero suggested that among all the clubs, it’s only the La Liga giants, Barcelona, who could sway Klopp to reconsider his planned sabbatical and opt for an immediate return to management.

Romero further noted that Klopp has reportedly engaged in discussions with Barcelona president Joan Laporta, indicating a strong interest in the managerial position at the Catalan club. This aligns with the imminent departure of Barcelona’s current manager, Xavi Hernandez, who announced his decision to step down at the end of the season back in January.

Xavi expressed that the challenging nature of the job, coupled with a feeling of undervaluation and mistreatment at Barcelona, has taken a toll on his mental health. Despite being a positive individual, he acknowledged that the constant demands have depleted his energy, leading to the decision to step back for the sake of his well-being.
