At Anfield, Liverpool and Burnley are squabbling 1-1. When the first half began, Liverpool did not appear to be their typical selves. At times during the first half of the game, Burnley appeared menacing, and it took some time for the Reds to start producing chances.

For the majority of the opening seven minutes of the match, Burnley was in Liverpool’s half. Amdouni’s excellent pass to Fofana in the ninth minute put Burnley within a whisker of scoring. Instead of trying to cross the ball in the area, Fofana decides to chip over Kelleher. When the ball crosses the net, the offside flag is raised.
A minute later, Fofana’s flick towards Amdouni, who was getting set to shoot, gives Burnley another opportunity. A save attempt is thwarted by Kelleher. Trent Alexander Arnold’s initial attempt with a shot outside the box goes over the bar. Liverpool got into gear to launch an offensive against Burnley at home
The game is tied at one after headers from corners by Diogo Jota and O’Shea.
Jota scores Liverpool’s first goal in the 31st minute after winning a header over Trafford after a corner kick. Burnley gave up an unfortunate goal after one of their defenders made a mistake. Dara O’Shea got in the way of Trafford’s attempt to retrieve the ball. Trent gave Jota a fantastic pass via the corner kick, and the ball fell right onto her head.
Late in the first half, Dara O’Shea atones for his error in the Liverpool goal by giving Burnley the equaliser. Similar to the Liverpool goal, O’Shea heads a corner kick into the box. He throws the ball passed Kelleher in the upper right corner. O’Shea scored his first Premier League goal ever.
