Jude Bellingham’s sprained ankle was verified by Carlo Ancelotti following Real Madrid’s 4-0 victory over Girona on Saturday.

In the 57th minute, Bellingham scored two goals before hobbling off the pitch.

Later on, the England midfielder, who is 20 years old, was shown sitting on the bench with an ice pack wrapped around his left foot.

Asked about Bellingham’s condition after the match, Ancelotti told reporters: “Jude Bellingham has an ankle sprain. We will assess him tomorrow.”

Tuesday night marks Madrid’s next game as the UEFA Champions League makes a comeback.

Los Blancos, who have won every one of their six UCL group stage matches this year, will travel to RB Leipzig for the first leg of their round of 16 match.

Ancelotti believes Bellingham will be ready to play the following week in Germany.

If Bellingham is unable to play, the Italian is sure that other players in his team will be able to fill in.

“Hopefully Bellingham will play on Tuesday,” Ancelotti stated. However, we managed while he wasn’t playing by using Joselu or Brahim Diaz.”

A chuckle “I will never be more worried than today,” Ancelotti continued. Without centre backs, we couldn’t play.”

Ancelotti named right-back Dani Carvajal and midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni his two central defenders against Girona since Eder Militao, David Alaba, Antonio Rudiger, and Nacho Fernandez were all sidelined with injuries.
