Chelsea star set to miss Carabao Cup final against Liverpool after picking up groin injury: Reports

Benoit Badiashile, a defender for Chelsea, is allegedly out for a month, dealing a severe blow to the team’s injury situation. The forthcoming Carabao Cup final between Liverpool and Crystal Palace, as well as Premier League matches against Manchester City and Brentford, appear to be off limits for the Frenchman.Badiashile will be sidelined for a month due to a groyne injury, according to an Evening Standard article. He sustained an injury during last week’s FA Cup fourth-round replay match between his team and Aston Villa, which resulted in a 3-1 victory.
Regarding the Frenchman, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino stated (via Football London):
“Badiashile we need to assess and wait for the scan. Groin. I hope it’s not a big issue. We need to assess now and after we will know better.”
Cesc Fabregas, a former Blues midfielder, recently praised the young defence, saying as reported by Metro:
“I played with [Axel] Disasi and Badiashile; Badiashile is one of the best ball-playing center-backs in all the young players in Europe; there is a lot of quality and a lot of talent.”
Chelsea will now have to alter the starting lineup from last week’s match against Aston Villa. Unless Pochettino chooses the injured players Trevoh Chalobah or Levi Colwill, veteran defender Thiago Silva is anticipated to start.
Chelsea starting XI starting to shape up, claims Mauricio Pochettino
Following his team’s 3-1 victory over Aston Villa, Mauricio Pochettino acknowledged that his team was beginning to take shape. Although he hasn’t decided on a starting lineup, the manager hinted that it might resemble the group that defeated Unai Emery’s squad in the FA Cup.
He said (via Football London):
“I think it is difficult to say that is the starting 11 that was in my mind. With all of the circumstances we have, from the beginning, I think it is difficult to say that is the starting 11 that was in my mind. The important thing is the 11 players showing, and little by little we are recovering players, players that are taking time to reach the level we expect from them.
“I think in the way we are training, the way the players behave, the attitude we are showing. I think we are improving. Yes, it’s about to win the next game and get the feelings we build from Aston Villa.”
Soon after playing Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final on February 25, Chelsea will play Leeds United in the FA Cup fifth round later this month.
