CLUB RANKINGS BY UEFA

Manchester City is ranked first, which is to be expected considering their success from the previous season and their recent track record of qualifying for both semifinals and finals over the previous five years.

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, who have both won UCL titles in the last five years, are right behind one other for the second place. With a consistent record of making it to the semifinals in knockout stages, PSG takes fourth place, and Liverpool takes fifth.

The runners-up from last year’s final, Inter Milan, are RB Leipzig, a regular participant in European events, at sixth place. It is a bit confusing that Chelsea, the 2020–21 season’s defending champions, are unexpectedly ahead of Barcelona in eighth place, with Manchester United in ninth.

Borussia Dortmund and AS Roma round out the top 11, with Barcelona taking the 12th spot. Atletico Madrid is next, with Sevilla and Juventus rounding out the top 15 in positions 14 and 15, respectively.
