Darwin Nunez reacts to his Carabao Cup celebration amid injury concerns

Amidst concerns over his injuries, Darwin Nunez has responded to the widely shared video of him celebrating Virgil van Dijk’s victory in the Carabao Cup final.

Nunez was replaced during Liverpool’s 4-1 victory over Brentford, thus concerns over his health surfaced prior to Sunday’s championship game.

Nunez then missed Liverpool’s victory over Luton Town, 4-1.

Nunez, along with players like Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai, was left off the roster for the championship game, so they were forced to watch from the stands.

The winner was headed in by Liverpool captain Van Dijk from a corner by Kostas Tsimikas with two minutes remaining in extra time.

Wild celebrations broke out from both the Liverpool bench and the supporters after the Dutchman’s score.

Following the game, a video of Nunez celebrating Van Dijk’s score by rushing down the stairs, over the fence, and over the advertising board went viral.

Now, the Liverpool striker has responded, writing on social media: “Told you I would jump if we scored. What a game!”

The injury to the Uruguayan may not be as bad as Liverpool supporters thought after seeing the footage.
