Mason Greenwood has surprise Man Utd return stance as talks confirmed with John Murtough

Mason Greenwood’s opinion on a return to Manchester United has been made public.
Greenwood departed United by mutual consent in August, spending the entire season on loan at Spanish club Getafe following a six-month internal probe into his behaviour.
The investigation started after the forward was detained in January 2022 on suspicion of rape, controlling behaviour, and assault—charges that Greenwood angrily disputed and were eventually dropped.
Greenwood has been linked to a move to Barcelona after reviving his career at La Liga club Getafe, where he recorded seven goals and five assists in 25 appearances. There have also been rumours of a return to United.
In fact, during his media conference last week, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the minority owner of United, left the door open for Greenwood to make a comeback. The billionaire from petrochemicals added, “We need to look at facts, judge fairly, and take into consideration what the club’s values are,” in an interview with the Athletic.
Then, after that, we make a choice. I shouldn’t be making comments about Mason Greenwood.”
The Athletic, however, now claim that Greenwood might not be all that interested in returning to United.
Although the article said that a few of weeks ago, United football director John Murtough had discussions with Greenwood’s father, Andrew, at Carrington, the player would supposedly be hesitant to go back.

The athlete apparently has no strong desire to play for the team again and believes that United could have helped him more with his case.
In addition, Greenwood understands that he would be under more scrutiny and criticism in the Premier League than he is in La Liga.
The one-cap England player is believed to be content with life in Madrid with his partner and their child, despite rumours that he spent Christmas at home in Manchester.
Greenwood is surrounded by a devoted fan base and is said to receive frequent visits from friends and relatives.
