Liverpool cut player from Europa League squad ahead of Sparta Prague tie

A player has been removed off Liverpool’s Europa League roster in advance of their matchup with Sparta Prague.
Liverpool’s European adventure will resume the following week when they take on Sparta in the round of 16.
On March 7, the Reds depart for the Czech Republic; on March 14, they play host to their opponents.
And ahead of taking on Sparta, Jurgen Klopp has updated his Europa League squad.
Joel Matip, who sustained an ACL injury in December and is expected to miss the remainder of the season, has reportedly been dropped by him, according to Liverpool Echo.
This season, Matip appeared in 14 games in all competitions before suffering an injury. He participated in three Europa League contests.
In Liverpool’s Europa League squad, Adrian, who hasn’t played a game this season, gets the defender’s place.
With Alisson out due to a hamstring injury, Klopp bolsters his goalkeeping rotation.
Since then, Caoimhin Kelleher has filled in admirably during his team’s Carabao Cup victory over Chelsea.
When Liverpool plays Sparta, Kelleher is probably going to start in goal.

“The first thing to say is that at this stage of European competition it makes sense to expect a proper test, and this is what we have got,” Klopp remarked after learning that his squad would play the Czech Republic.
Sparta Prague defeated Galatasaray in a thrilling match, earning their spot in the round of sixteen. They will undoubtedly want to carry on their streak because it was a memorable night for them.
“There is not too much time before we meet, but hopefully we can arrive there in a good condition because that is exactly what we will need.”
“We will have to be ready,” the German manager continued. “The Czech league tells us what a terrific season Sparta are having – I am very sure they have lost only once.
“There is a lot of football to be played before then, of course, and we will take each game as it comes, but in the back of our minds we will also know that we have another exciting Europa League tie to look forward to.”
