Liverpool players all give seal of approval to premier league manager linked with Liverpool

Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold  said that Brighton is the team that has impressed him the most so far this season, amid rumours that Roberto De Zerbi could succeed Jurgen Klopp.

Following Jurgen Klopp’s announcement of his departure from the team, a shortlist of managers was apparently created, and the manager of Brighton was one of them.

With his free-flowing football style, the Italian has made a mark since taking over in late 2022, elevating Brighton to the status of one of the Premier League’s most visually appealing teams.

The choice to succeed Klopp is currently Xabi Alonso, but De Zerbi is reportedly a possibility as well, according to The Athletic.

In an interview with FourFourTwo, Alexander-Arnold was asked which side has impressed him the most; given De Zerbi’s connections, his response will surely generate discussion.

“I think probably the most interesting team over the last year or two in the Premier League has been Brighton,” Alexander-Arnold said.

“So, I would say Brighton are the one when I’m able to watch one of their games it’s always entertaining. It’s always free flowing football. The way that they build-up and play out from the back is exceptional, really brave. And I think yeah I would say Brighton’s been the one.”

The Liverpool defender admitted that it’s really difficult to play against De Zerbi’s group.

“It’s an absolute nightmare to play against [Brighton]. It’s a very, very difficult game.”

According to rumours, the Brighton manager has a release clause worth roughly £12 million, therefore Liverpool would likely have to pay a high amount to acquire him. De Zerbi is completely focused on the task at hand with Brighton, notwithstanding all the speculations. Barcelona has also been connected to him.

Whether it’s Alonso, De Zerbi, or Ruben Amorim of Sporting, whomever takes over for Klopp at Liverpool will be facing one of the hardest assignments in sports history.

Given his success and widespread admiration, it will be difficult for any manager, especially a young one, to succeed Klopp at Anfield.
