Todd Boehly ‘could be replaced as Chelsea chairman’ as agreement revealed

Since purchasing Chelsea from Roman Abramovich and Clearlake Capital in 2022, the American has made all of the decisions.
The Blues have failed to win a single trophy in the two years that have passed, spent almost £1 billion on player transfers, had four managers, and finished in the middle of the Premier League.
Frank Lampard’s tenure as interim manager proved disastrous, and within six months of each other, Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter were fired.
Mauricio Pochettino, a former manager of Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain, is presently in charge of Chelsea, which is ranked 11th in the Premier League.
Much of the blame for the Blues failings has been directed at Boehly, however.
Furthermore, according to a contractual agreement between Chelsea’s owners, the American may step down as club chairman in three years, according to a claim that surfaced in The Telegraph.
According to the terms of the agreement, the chairperson may be switched between the owners every five years. This means that by 2027, Behdad Eghbali and Jose Feliciano of Clearlake Capital will have the chance to choose a replacement for Boehly.
Of course, Boehly might retake the position in 2032 if Clearlake were to win the chairmanship.

The reported agreement is merely a suggestion, not a commitment, so if Clearlake decides not to submit a name, Boehly may still be in charge at Chelsea.
The Telegraph claims that, in the midst of intense criticism of Boehly, Eghbali’s influence inside the team has “dramatically increased” during the past year.
Furthermore, the article stated that although there is an agreement, there is no indication that Eghbali and Feliciano would choose to accept the post, and Boehly has no intention of turning it down.
Boehly has often attended Chelsea games, although Eghbali and Feliciano have stayed mostly out of the spotlight.
