Predicted Liverpool lineup for the match against Man City
With questions remaining over Mo Salah’s fitness, Jurgen Klopp must make the difficult choice of whether to start the Egyptian in Liverpool’s Premier League matchup against Manchester City on Sunday.
The Reds lead the league table going into the weekend and have won seven straight games in all competitions, their most recent being a convincing 5-1 victory over Sparta Prague. However, with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City coming to Anfield with hopes of taking the top spot, this meeting could end up being the most important of the season.4
Later in the season, Liverpool and Man City fought to a 1-1 draw at the Etihad, with Trent Alexander-Arnold scoring a sensational equaliser. However, Klopp’s team has struggled with injuries ever then.Two key concerns for Klopp as he considers his starting lineup against the championship rivals are Ibrahima Konate’s fitness and Mo Salah’s availability.
Konate is still iffy as his condition is unknown pending a scan, but there is still hope that the test will turn up no serious injuries. In contrast, Salah played just 16 minutes against Sparta Prague in his comeback.
Liverpool’s probable starting lineup, assuming both are fit to play, might have Konate defending alongside Virgil van Dijk, with Conor Bradley and Andy Robertson on either side. Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo, and Alexis Mac Allister might be used in midfield, with Salah on the right wing, Luis Diaz on the left, and Darwin Nunez spearheading the assault.
