Liverpool and Man City fans can’t believe ‘mental’ stat about their two star players

A statistic that compared Darwin Nunez and Erling Haaland stunned supporters of Manchester City and Liverpool.

On Sunday, the two Premier League title rivals faced off at Anfield in a thrilling 1-1 tie.

John Stones’ goal from a deft corner routine gave City the lead, and shortly after the break, Alexis Mac Allister equalised from the penalty spot.

Though things could have turned out differently if they had been given a late penalty, Jurgen Klopp’s team eventually failed to find a second goal after outlasting City’s early domination.

Darwin Nunez was a headache for the City defenders for most of the day, which helped to explain why he was surprised when he was replaced with fifteen minutes remaining.

The Uruguayan attacker was flagged offside a staggering five occasions in the first half alone, considering the danger he created.

In contrast, Nunez’s opponent Erling Haaland, who leads the Premier League in goals scored this year, has only had one offside call all season.

Supporters of both sides were in disbelief at the astounding statistic.

“The difference between Haaland and Nunez is Haaland has a brain,” mused a fan.

Another fan posted on X: “Haaland being offside once all season is mental. It’s Nunez’s kryptonite. He’s cost himself a dozen goals or assists by going too early!”

“Erling Haaland has been caught offside once this season?” inquired a third supporter. That forward play is amazing. How?

One more perplexed admirer merely tweeted, “That’s an incredible statistic.”

Liverpool and Arsenal are now tied on 64 points after the draw, with Arsenal leading the standings due to their better goal differential.

Later this month, City, who are just one point behind their rivals for the title, will play Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium.
