Liverpool wonderkid ‘could leave’ after Jurgen Klopp exit as ‘dream club’ revealed

Because of his father’s goal, one of Liverpool’s most promising young players may decide to leave the team.

Jurgen Klopp broke the heart of every Liverpool fan at the end of January by announcing he would be departing the club at the end of the season.

The German manager has become an icon at Anfield, winning every trophy available to him and completely transforming the squad.

The favourite to take his place in the dugout is Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso. Klopp has been gradually assembling a team that can compete in the Premier League by promoting young players into the first team, as evidenced by the amazing Carabao Cup final triumph over Chelsea.

If he is to follow his father’s ambition, one of the club’s most gifted young players may follow Klopp out the exit door.

Bobby Clark, the son of Newcastle icon Lee, joined Liverpool in 2021 for a £1.5 million sum, and since then, he has established himself as a regular first-team alternative for Klopp.

The 19-year-old has made 11 appearances so far this season and scored the team’s first goal in the 6-1 thumping of Sparta Prague in the Europa League.

Clark’s father hopes to see him return to St. James Park one day, despite his ascent to the first team.

He said on No Tippy Tappy Football, “My ultimate wish would absolutely be to see Bobby playing for Newcastle.”

“I’m not sure how many father-son teams have played together for the club.”

Luckily for Liverpool supporters, Clark thinks his son might think about going back to the Northeast at a later point in his career, much like Alan Shearer did.

“I was fortunate enough to play for them 265 times, and who knows, he might have to pull an Alan Shearer and return,” the speaker continued. My fantasy would be that.

Even his teammates were caught off guard by Klopp’s shocking declaration. After a team meeting at the AXA Training Centre, Clark said his son texted him to let him know what he had decided.

“Bobby and the boys were ecstatic on Wednesday night after defeating Fulham since they had contributed to the team’s advancement to the Carabao Cup final.

“But the next morning, Jurgen called a team meeting to announce that he was leaving. That is a great example of the ups and downs of football.

“Bobby texted me and said, ‘Dad, I need to speak to you’ – I thought something bad had happened to him personally. He told me that Jurgen was leaving and I was gutted, so just imagine how the players felt. Now it seems to have galvanised the group even more. They want to make it a memorable season for the boss when he leaves.”
