Man City given major injury scare as player ‘limps out of training’ on international duty

Following his apparent limp out of Norway’s training, Erling Haaland has given Manchester City a serious injury worry.

City’s stars have jetted off around the world this week for the international break, but it looks like Pep Guardiola has already been dealt a huge blow.

On Tuesday footage emerged on social media appearing to show Haaland limping off the pitch while training with Norway.

The striker’s foot stress injury caused him to miss 12 games in December and January.

At the end of January, he made a comeback to the game, but while exercising with his international colleagues, he appeared to be uncomfortable.

City’s first game after the International break is a huge Premier League clash with Arsenal on March 31.

The treble champions will play Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, and Luton Town in the league in April. They will also play Real Madrid in a two-leg Champions League quarterfinal match and Chelsea in an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

One point behind leaders Arsenal and Liverpool in the league standings, Guardiola’s team is now in third place.

With 18 goals in 23 games this season, Haaland is poised to earn the Premier League Golden Boot for a second consecutive year.

The Norwegian sensation broke the record for the most goals scored by a player in a single Premier League season last season with 36 league goals.

Over the course of 34 appearances across all competitions this season, Haaland has scored 29 goals and supplied six assists.

Over the course of the following week, Haaland is expected to play in Norway’s friendly against Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

When asked directly this week about Haaland’s anticipated participation in the two friendlies, Guardiola responded, “He is not my player anymore going forward; whatever they decide will be fine.”

“They know that they fought a lot and train a lot, a lot of adrenaline and concentration to arrive in this position. They know they are friendly games and they have to handle it wisely. Hopefully they can do it.”
