Harvey Elliott defies logic with ridiculous pass during England U21s game

Harvey Elliott’s outstanding performance for the Under 21s gave Gareth Southgate a glimpse of what he and England are missing.

The senior team and Belgium tied 2-2 on Tuesday night, with Jude Bellingham scoring a late equaliser.

Nonetheless, Lee Carsley’s Under 21 team crushed Luxembourg 7-0 to win decisively.

Morgan Rogers, Noni Madueke, and Samuel Iling-Junior all had braces, and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens also hit the mark.

Elliott, a star for Liverpool, put on a spectacular performance and contributed two assists in the crushing.

The highlight of his performance, though, was when he executed a ridiculous rabona pass.

The former Fulham player first flipped the ball up into the air before passing it wide to Madueke, who then started doing some kick-ups.

But he did it with a great swagger, encircling his right foot in a squalid manner with his left.

Elliott’s eleven goal contributions in his last 10 club and national team appearances have left supporters drooling.

“Harvey Daniel James Elliott,” one person wrote. I didn’t know.”

“Harvey Elliott, that’s filth,” a second added.

“That is naughty from Harvey Elliott,” a third person said.

A fourth individual said, “Harvey Elliott. Simply amazing.”

Elliott, who has made over 100 appearances for Liverpool this season, is also having a great campaign.

Carsley feels he is making every effort to put himself in the running even though he hasn’t received a senior call-up yet.

“I’m not sure (how close Harvey is),” he told a press conference.

“But if he’s playing week in, week out for Liverpool, scoring and assisting, being really important in that team, then he will put himself in the frame.

“It’s a big ask. If you’re playing week in, week out in the Premier League at a really high level, then you’re always in with a chance. You’re generally only one or two injuries away from getting the opportunity. The main thing is that they’re putting themselves in the race.”
