Before their pivotal potential “title decider” at the Etihad on Easter Sunday, former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas has showered praise on one Arsenal player.

With ten games left, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool are separated by just one point, making this one of the closest title battles in Premier League history.

Though Mikel Arteta’s side currently has the upper hand, the outcome this weekend might radically turn the tide in the club’s favour. If either of the two teams playing this weekend wins the three points, they will feel in control; but, if Liverpool defeats Fulham and the game at the Etihad ends in a draw, they will be in charge..

Declan Rice was identified by former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas as the game’s most important player before the weekend’s action.

During the international break, Rice made history by captaining England at Wembley against Belgium for the first time in his career. The World Cup champion called the England midfielder “the complete package” while giving a preview of the forthcoming game on the Planet Premier League podcast.

“He has added vitality, quality, robustness, intelligence, and maturity. In my perspective, he’s the whole package in midfield,”

Fabregas said. “I believe he seems like a really educated youngster, and he can play higher up as a No. 8 and double pivot as well as play by himself.

“He knows his limitations as well so I feel safe. I see him play and I’m like: “I don’t think this boy will make a mistake in this game!” He added.

“Listen, I don’t know what will happen on Sunday, but he gives you that trust that, in midfield, in big games, you want players who take responsibility, have personality, players who you can trust, especially against a top Manchester City team when they have so many players in midfield with so much quality.

“I think Arsenal, Arsenal fans, and Mikel, when they have Declan in there they feel safe. That’s a very big plus for the team,” The 36-year-old concluded.
