Liverpool ‘willing to smash British record transfer fee’ for perfect Mo Salah replacement

According to a recent report, Liverpool is prepared to shatter the British transfer record to acquire a replacement for Mohamed Salah. Salah, who has been instrumental for Liverpool this season with 22 goals and 13 assists, could potentially face another battle to stay at the club, having rejected a £150 million bid last summer.

With his contract expiring in 2025 and no extension agreed upon yet, Liverpool may opt to sell Mohamed Salah this summer to avoid the risk of losing him for free the following year. The possibility of Saudi Arabia renewing their interest in Salah in the upcoming transfer window adds further pressure for Liverpool to make a decision regarding his future.

According to Sport, if Mohamed Salah leaves, Liverpool will reportedly seek to replace him with an established superstar, with Vinicius Jr. emerging as a potential candidate.

The publication claimed that Liverpool, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain are all willing to offer Real €200 million (£171 million) to secure the signature of Vinicius Jr.

However, it’s improbable that Liverpool would be willing to invest such a substantial fee in the player, especially considering Jurgen Klopp’s statement in February that the club lacked similar funds to pursue PSG’s Kylian Mbappe in the summer.

Furthermore, the report by Sport indicates that Real Madrid has no intention of parting ways with Vinicius and instead aims to extend his current contract until 2029.

Meanwhile, last year, Vinicius expressed his desire to either remain at Real Madrid for the entirety of his career or potentially return to his former club, Brazilian outfit Flamengo.

“I think I could stay here my whole career, but the club of my life is Flamengo,” the forward said in an interview with France Football and L’Equipe last year. “I promised my father I would go back one day. I have to keep this promise.

“I love life here in general, and it’s going well for my family too. When my loved ones walk around, they are recognised and they wish us nothing but happiness.
