Wayne Rooney reveals the one Liverpool player who does not ‘get the credit he deserves’

Wayne Rooney has singled out a Liverpool player whom he believes isn’t receiving the recognition he deserves for his performances at Anfield.

Ahead of United’s upcoming clash against Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon, Rooney expressed his admiration for star player Mohamed Salah.

“He excels at carrying the ball up the pitch, making penetrating runs, and both scoring and creating goals,” Rooney remarked. “That’s his primary role. While Liverpool has had various No.9s like Roberto Firmino and Darwin Nunez, Salah consistently delivers goals.”

“I don’t think he gets the credit he deserves. Look at Phil Foden in a similar role.

“He’s got another eight, nine or 10 years to get to the numbers Mohamed Salah is hitting. I’d like to see him get more credit.”

Salah played a pivotal role in the thrilling 2-2 draw between the two sides on Sunday evening. He restored parity from the penalty spot after goals from Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo had given United an unexpected lead.
