Liverpool fans furious as remarkable Alisson stat emerges after Europa League defeat

Liverpool fans expressed their frustration after an astonishing stat about Alisson Becker surfaced following their Europa League exit.

Despite defeating Atalanta 1-0 away in the quarter-final second leg, Liverpool crashed out of the competition with a 3-1 aggregate loss, following a surprising 3-0 defeat at Anfield in the previous leg. Despite taking an early lead in Italy, Liverpool couldn’t overturn the deficit.

Mohamed Salah secured the lead for the visitors with a penalty kick following a handball in the area. However, despite their efforts, Liverpool struggled to maintain momentum in the second half, failing to capitalize on their early advantage.

Despite dominating possession, they lacked clear-cut chances and ultimately failed to exert significant pressure on Atalanta. Interestingly, goalkeeper Alisson had the second-most touches (105) in the Liverpool team, just one behind Ibrahima Konate.

This tactical approach prompted frustration among Liverpool fans, with many expressing disappointment in Klopp’s strategy on social media.

One fan on X commented, “All we did was play at the back. It was really frustrating, and then trying to Hail Mary every opportunity we had. We didn’t deserve to go through.”

“All thanks to Liverpool players playing back passes and Klopp poor football tactics, every time they pass the ball backward,” added a second supporter.

While a third sarcastically replied: “Tactic today Klopp? ‘Pass it to Alisson'”

Liverpool faces a crucial test on Sunday as they travel to face Fulham in the Premier League.

Currently sitting third in the table, level on points with Arsenal and two behind defending champions Manchester City, Jurgen Klopp’s side aims to secure a victory to keep their title hopes alive.

With only six games left in Klopp’s tenure at Anfield, this match represents his final opportunity to add to his trophy collection before stepping down as manager in the summer.
