Odds drop on new name to replace Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager

There has been a shift in betting odds regarding a potential successor for Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager. With Xabi Alonso recently affirming his commitment to Bayer Leverkusen, Sporting manager Ruben Amorim has emerged as the frontrunner (1/5 odds) to step into the role at Anfield.
Despite speculation suggesting that the 39-year-old has already undergone interviews for the Liverpool position, he has refrained from confirming his future with Sporting beyond the current term
Amorim said: “This is the last time I’m going to talk about my future. There was no interview and certainly no agreement. The only thing we all want here is to be champions with Sporting, nothing will change. I’m the Sporting coach and there was no interview or agreement with any club.
“I’m just focused, as always, on representing my club. As I no longer have anything else to say… There will be no interviews or agreements with the Sporting coach. The matter is completely resolved, whether related to this club or another.”
Sky Bet and other bookmakers have Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi as the second favorite (10/1) to potentially replace Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool. The Italian coach has also been ambiguous about his future with the club on the south coast. De Zerbi has been linked with other managerial positions, including Barcelona and Manchester United, in recent months.
Interestingly, Feyenoord manager Arne Slot is now Sky Bet’s third favorite for the Liverpool managerial position at odds of 12/1. Slot has gained recognition in the Netherlands for leading Feyenoord to the Eredivisie title last season. Although they are still contenders this season, PSV only needs one more win to secure the crown.
Slot has consistently expressed his desire to manage in the Premier League in the near future.

“My next step will not be a club in Holland,” he said last year (via Sky Sports). “If that is my next step, then I’ve failed completely. The normal next step will be to go abroad and I’ve always said the best league in the world is the Premier League.”
When questioned about the prospect of taking over as Liverpool manager after Klopp’s departure, Slot opted not to dismiss the idea entirely. “What answer can I give that there will be no headlines about it? So next question!” Slot remarked, as reported by Voetbal Primeur.
