Man Utd ‘willing to sell’ every member of their first-team squad except three players

Manchester United are planning a mass summer clear-out, with the majority of their squad seen as dispensable.

According to recent reports, Manchester United is willing to sell every player this summer with the exception of three stars. After a miserable season in which they have lost 12 of their 34 games, the Red Devils are currently sixth in the Premier League.

It’s going to be a summer of major changes at Old Trafford with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS taking over football operations and allowing new arrivals like Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox to make major changes everywhere.

Erik ten Hag, who is now under pressure, may not have a clear future, but practically every member of United’s roster is said to be open to transfers, according to James Ducker of The Telegraph. Due to the unlikely prospect of playing in the Champions League and the resulting 25% pay cut for the players, the club has decided to adopt a “ultra-flexible approach” that essentially involves selling before they buy.

The likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Donny van de Beek, Victor Lindelof, and Christian Eriksen may spark interest, although Anthony Martial, Raphael Varane, and Brandon Williams are all expected to depart on a free transfer.

Although Casemiro is also considered expendable, United may be depending on a massive offer from the Saudi Pro League given his substantial weekly salary of £350,000.

Although they have no intention of selling Marcus Rashford, they will “genuinely consider” offers for the No. 10 because of his recent poor performance, which has caught the attention of Paris Saint-Germain. Mason Greenwood, Jadon Sancho, and Antony—who eventually scored his first goal of the year in the 1-1 draw with Burnley—could all be sold to raise money.

The story, however, emphasises that United wants to assemble the team around the youthful trio of Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, and Rasmus Hojlund and considers them to be off-limits to any interested parties.

United are back in action on Monday 6 May when they travel to Crystal Palace.
