Jurgen Klopp ‘had tears in his eyes’ after receiving gift from Liverpool fan and demanded to record a video

The Liverpool manager was full of praise
Jurgen Klopp was deeply moved when a Liverpool fan gifted him a hand-painted canvas featuring the iconic words “You’ll Never Walk Alone” and “Danke Jurgen.” Abigail Rudkin, a talented 23-year-old artist specializing in football-themed artwork, devoted two months to crafting the piece as a tribute to Klopp’s tenure as Liverpool manager.
The painting not only celebrates the unity he has fostered among fans and players since assuming the role but also features a poignant moment of him being lifted after their Champions League triumph in 2019. Klopp was visibly touched by the gesture and insisted on recording a video to express his gratitude.
After finishing the artwork in April, Rudkin paid a visit to Liverpool’s training ground on Thursday to personally present her creation to Klopp. The manager was deeply moved by the intricate details of the painting, showcasing Rudkin’s talent and dedication.
“I love it. When I saw it, I had tears in my eyes,” he said. “I don’t have a lot of skills but I see a talent when I meet it. Abigail, you are obviously a real talent and I wish you all the best.”

Here’s how fans on social media reacted to the beautiful moment
One said: “We’ve hung onto every word this man has said since day one and praised him for getting us, truly tapping into what makes us special and harnessing that power. But what’s most remarkable is that he hasn’t done it by design, it’s just the way he is. He’s going to be missed.”
A second wrote: “This is amazing. Absolutely buzzing for you. That’s what it’s all about,” while a third commented: “Jurgen Klopp is the soundest man on planet earth and nobody will tell me otherwise.”
A fourth said: “She should be so proud of her achievements, and what a feeling it must be presenting your work to Jurgen himself,” and a fifth added: “Genuinely heartwarming. You can see Klopp is being completely authentic and the happiness on Abigail’s face is utterly priceless.”
After nine successful years leading the team, the German manager announced his departure from Liverpool at the conclusion of the 2023/24 season.
At 56 years old, he cited “running out of energy” as the reason for his decision. Klopp leaves behind an impressive legacy, having guided Liverpool to victory in numerous prestigious competitions including the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, and Club World Cup during his tenure at Anfield.
“I know that I cannot do the job again and again and again and again,” he said in a surprise announcement in January.
“After the years we had together and after all the time we spent together and after all the things we went through together, the respect grew for you, the love grew for you and the least I owe you is the truth – and that is the truth.”
