Cristiano Ronaldo aims sly dig while making his Premier League title prediction

Cristiano Ronaldo took a subtle jab at a Premier League team while making a title race prediction.

Ronaldo, one of the greatest footballers of all time, also enjoys watching other sports. On Saturday night, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star was among the celebrities attending the Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk fight at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Before the heavyweight bout, Ronaldo was filmed chatting with Frank Warren, Fury’s manager and promoter, who is an avid Arsenal fan. Warren took the opportunity to ask Ronaldo about Arsenal, jokingly referencing Arsene Wenger’s failed bid to sign Ronaldo from Sporting Lisbon before he joined Manchester United. Warren said, “We’re still waiting for you at Arsenal.”

Ronaldo laughed and responded, “They’re not going to win the league.”

Currently, Arsenal is second in the Premier League, two points behind leaders Manchester City as they head into the final day of the season. To win their first title since 2004, Arsenal would need to beat Everton on Sunday and hope that City drops points at home to West Ham.

Ronaldo didn’t have to travel far for the fight, as he currently plays for Riyadh-based Al-Nassr. He sat ringside next to Anthony Joshua.

The 39-year-old has had a successful season personally, scoring 42 goals in 42 games across all competitions. However, Al-Nassr failed to win the Saudi Pro League title and were knocked out of the AFC Champions League at the quarter-final stage.
