Manchester United
According to Fabrizio Romano, With a sum of sixty million pounds, Manchester United was able to effectively complete the timely recruitment of a very gifted star player from Madrid.
With Raphael Varane confirming his exit from Manchester United on a free transfer, the club is expected to secure a new center-back this summer. Currently, United is exploring various options in the transfer market, with Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite reportedly a primary target.
From our perspective, the opportunity to acquire Eder Militao has emerged. Militao, initially linked with a move to Old Trafford during his time at Porto, delivered outstanding performances in his debut season with the Primeira Liga club before moving to Real Madrid in 2019.
According to Mundo Deportivo (page 12), despite Militao signing a long-term contract with Real Madrid in January, he is considered ‘transferable.’ This is partly due to a severe knee injury that has limited him to just five La Liga starts this season. Manager Carlo Ancelotti has preferred Antonio Rudiger and Nacho Fernandez in the Champions League, with Aurelien Tchouameni also transitioning to center-back.
Ancelotti has hinted that Militao, who could be replaced by David Alaba once he recovers from injury, is available for transfer. This presents a significant opportunity for Manchester United. Militao would be an excellent addition, particularly as the Red Devils prepare for the 2024-2025 season without Varane.
Militao, known for his ball-playing skills and impressive passing accuracy rate of 91%, is a powerful defender adept in aerial and ground challenges. Carlo Ancelotti has praised his one-on-one defensive abilities. While primarily a right-sided center-back, Militao is versatile enough to play as a right-back, a position he frequently occupied earlier in his career before moving to the Bernabeu.
Considering ongoing speculation about Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s future, Militao, valued at £60 million, could provide a dual solution for Manchester United, enhancing both the central and right-back defensive positions.
