RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko has shown a preference for joining Arsenal this summer, despite interest from Chelsea, Manchester United, and Italian clubs. The 21-year-old Slovenian forward, valued at £45 million, favors a move to the Emirates, providing a significant boost to Mikel Arteta’s plans.
Arteta is keen on adding a young striker to his squad to complement Kai Havertz, who impressed last season. Sesko’s agent, Elvis Basanovic, has attended Arsenal matches, signaling a strong connection between the player and the club. Sesko, part of Slovenia’s squad for the upcoming Euros, has been a standout performer and fits Arsenal’s profile perfectly.
RB Leipzig is open to selling Sesko if a favorable deal can be negotiated, despite his short stint at the club since joining from Red Bull Salzburg in 2019. Standing at 6ft 5in, Sesko boasts a strong goal-scoring record and has been closely scouted by Arsenal throughout the season.
In addition to Sesko, Arsenal has shown interest in Ajax’s Brian Bobbey and Brighton’s Evan Ferguson. However, Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Newcastle’s Alexander Isak are no longer targets. Arsenal is also seeking a promising No.9 and a winger, and potentially a midfielder if Thomas Partey departs.
While Arsenal is prepared to spend this summer, they are also anticipating departures, including Aaron Ramsdale, Eddie Nketiah, Reiss Nelson, and Emile Smith Rowe. Bayern Munich has also shown interest in Oleksandr Zinchenko.
