Jadon Sancho has issued a heartfelt statement on social media following Borussia Dortmund’s defeat in the Champions League final, hinting at his future with Manchester United. After being loaned back to Dortmund in January due to a fallout with Erik ten Hag, Sancho has indicated he might not seek a permanent return to Germany despite his successful stint.

Sancho’s loan spell at Dortmund saw him making 21 appearances and scoring three goals, with a standout performance against Paris Saint-Germain that helped his team reach the Champions League final. However, they fell short in the final against Real Madrid, losing 2-0 at Wembley Stadium.

In his statement on X (formerly Twitter), Sancho expressed gratitude towards Dortmund, manager Edin Terzic, and the club’s executives, seemingly bidding farewell to the club. He wrote:

“What a crazy 6 months. We win together we lose together, these moments only make us stronger! I’m so grateful to be a part of such an amazing group of players!

I want to congratulate Real Madrid on winning the Champions League. We came up short on the night, but we should be super proud of ourselves. We are a family and these moments won’t break us! Thank you to everybody who came out to support us on such a special day!

@BVB I want to thank everyone involved at such an amazing club. I can’t thank you enough for welcoming me back the way you all have during these last 6 months.

Thank you to Edin Terzic, Sebastian Kehl and Hans-Joachim Watzke for believing in me and bringing me back. Finally, a special thank you to the BVB fans. Your support is amazing and I’m forever thankful for you all!”

Sancho will return to Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer window. However, his future with the club appears conditional on Erik ten Hag’s departure. Despite leading United to FA Cup victory, ten Hag’s position remains under scrutiny, and Sancho’s readiness to continue with the Red Devils hinges on the managerial situation.

Sancho’s return and potential role at Manchester United will be a focal point in the upcoming transfer window, especially considering the dynamics surrounding the club’s management. Fans and pundits alike will closely watch how this situation evolves and what it means for Sancho’s career.
