Cristiano Ronaldo breaks world record after Real Madrid confirm Kylian Mbappe transfer

Cristiano Ronaldo has set a new record after responding to Kylian Mbappe’s transfer to Real Madrid.
Mbappe, 25, had long been linked with a move to the Bernabeu Stadium, with speculation spanning several months, if not years, before his recent confirmation as a Madrid player. The Spanish giants have been tracking the French international since 2017, and he nearly joined in 2022 before renewing his contract at Paris Saint-Germain.
With his contract at PSG expiring this summer, Mbappe is making the move to Spain in what is considered the highest-profile free agent transfer ever. Joining Real Madrid, Mbappe will wear the iconic white shirt, following in the footsteps of world-class players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Jude Bellingham, Zinedine Zidane, and Gareth Bale.
Ronaldo, one of the most notable and successful signings in the club’s history, joined from Manchester United in 2009, made 292 appearances for Madrid, and left in 2018. The 39-year-old then joined Juventus, eventually returning to United for an unsuccessful second spell, and now plays for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

Despite being in the Middle East, Ronaldo remains engaged with events at Madrid. He recently set a new record with his response to Mbappe’s announcement on Instagram. Mbappe posted: “A dream come true. So happy and proud to be part of my dream club. It’s impossible to explain how happy and excited I feel right now. I can’t wait to see you, Madridistas, and thank you for your incredible support.”
Ronaldo replied: “My turn to… [eyes emoji]. Excited to see you light up the Bernabeu.”
According to Daily Sports, Ronaldo’s comment has become the most liked comment in Instagram’s history, with just under four million likes and counting.
