Real Madrid deals a historic sho.ck to Pep Guardiola and signs two resounding deals from Manchester City

Real Madrid and Manchester City are not just competing on the field; there is also intense rivalry off the field to secure the world’s top players. Jude Bellingham might not be the last player Manchester City loses to Real Madrid, as the Spanish club is close to signing two players highly desired by Guardiola.

Pep Guardiola is well aware of this but does not always get the players he wants. Some end up at the Santiago Bernabeu and have contributed to City’s recent Champions League exits. According to the Spanish network Defensa Central, Alphonso Davies and Florian Wirtz are the two players Guardiola aims to sign, but he faces a significant obstacle in Real Madrid.

The network reported that Guardiola is shocked by Real Madrid’s off-field contractual strength, with both Davies and Wirtz close to joining Real Madrid—Davies potentially this summer and Wirtz in the summer of 2025. “They take the best, and this cannot be; we have to be better at this kind of thing,” Guardiola told City management after losing the Bellingham deal last year.

The network concluded that despite its immense wealth, Manchester City cannot match Florentino Perez’s genius, especially in securing deals and contracts with the world’s best players.
