Spanish press reports have highlighted Real Madrid’s frustration with Hans Flick, the new technical director at Barcelona, making early moves for a significant deal in the current summer transfer window.
According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, Real Madrid remains unfazed by Barcelona’s attempts to secure the signing of the top player from the German league this summer.
The newspaper reported that agents who accurately predicted Kylian Mbappé’s transfer to Real Madrid last year, despite initial denials from both parties, now assert that an agreement has been finalized between Florian Wirtz and Real Madrid.
Marca confirmed that the agreement stipulates Wirtz will continue playing for Bayer Leverkusen for another season before joining Real Madrid for €150 million in the summer of 2025. The same information was relayed to the German newspaper Bild.
Additionally, Marca clarified that Wirtz’s impending move to Real Madrid does not affect the future of Rudi Völler, Bayer Leverkusen’s sporting director.
Florian Wirtz, the standout talent at Bayer Leverkusen, has emerged as a primary target for Real Madrid in their plans for 2025. However, recent reports suggest that Hans Flick aims to personally convince Wirtz to reconsider his destination and potentially divert towards Barcelona instead.
