Liverpool ‘offered chance’ to sign world-class player in crazy cut-price deal

Arne Slot has the opportunity to make a major impact as Liverpool’s new manager with the potential signing of Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich. With pre-season still weeks away, Slot is yet to fully evaluate the squad he inherited from Jürgen Klopp.
Once done, he will collaborate with Fenway Sports Group’s new CEO of football, former Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards, and new sporting director Richard Hughes to strengthen the team.
Liverpool are particularly interested in Lille defender Leny Yoro, a highly promising prospect. Additionally, they are seeking to bolster their midfield, with Kimmich emerging as a prime target.

Kimmich, 29, is out of contract at Bayern next summer and reportedly willing to move if he continues to refuse a new deal. This situation could allow Liverpool to acquire him for significantly less than his market value, with a reported valuation around £42 million.
Kimmich has attracted interest from several top clubs, including Manchester City, Arsenal, and Real Madrid, meaning Liverpool must act swiftly to secure his services. Liverpool’s current first-choice defensive midfielder, Wataru Endo, has expressed support for adding another player in his position, emphasizing the need for a strong number 6 in the midfield.
This move, if successful, would not only address a key position in the squad but also signal a strong statement of intent from Liverpool under Slot’s management.
