He recently met with the France squad at Euro 2024 and revealed discussions with Manchester United’s new owners to resolve the case and overturn the ban, emphasizing his resolve to continue playing rather than retire.

Paul Pogba remains resolute in his determination to continue his football career despite facing a four-year ban due to failing a doping test in August 2023, with both his A and B samples testing positive. Pogba is appealing this suspension at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

In response to speculation about his retirement, Pogba clarified that any suggestion of him quitting football was misinterpreted. He explained in an interview with Sky Sport Italia, “If you haven’t seen a video of me saying I’m quitting football, it’s because I’m still a footballer. I’m still here, staying positive, and fighting what I believe is an injustice.”

Pogba emphasized that a video circulating online, where he appeared to suggest the end of his career, was edited to distort his words. He affirmed his ongoing commitment to football, stating, “Pogba is not finished. Until you hear me say I’m finished, don’t worry. I still feel like a player. I’m training and staying positive. Although I can’t play, I’m spending precious time with my family, watching my children grow up.”

Despite being unable to participate in his beloved sport, Pogba expressed his eagerness to return, likening himself to a young aspiring professional. He concluded optimistically, “I’m eager to return to what I love, football.”

Pogba’s words reflect his steadfast determination to overcome adversity and resume his career in football, pending the outcome of his appeal.

Pogba, currently at Juventus on a minimal wage and unable to participate due to his ban, clarified that reports of his contract’s termination on June 30 were inaccurate. He confirmed his status as a Juventus player but noted a lack of communication from the club regarding his future. Despite his ban lasting until 2027, the French international remains hopeful of an earlier return to the field, pending resolution of legal challenges.
