According to Fabrizio Romano, it has been reported that Anthony Gordon has decided to join FC Barcelona during the summer transfer window.

Manchester City and Liverpool have both shown strong interest in Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon, as reported by David Ornstein of The Athletic.
The England international has had a standout season with Newcastle, attracting the attention of several top Premier League clubs.
Newcastle United’s squad has become a focal point this summer, with multiple players garnering interest from elite clubs.
Among these standout players, Anthony Gordon has made significant strides since his move from Everton to Newcastle.
Gordon’s performance at Newcastle has been exceptional, earning him a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England team.
Despite joining Newcastle less than a year ago, his rapid development has already linked him to potential moves to bigger clubs.
David Ornstein confirmed in a recent Q&A session with The Athletic that Manchester City holds a keen interest in Gordon. He noted, “Liverpool, like Manchester City and many other clubs, really like Anthony Gordon.”
However, Ornstein also mentioned that Liverpool is unlikely to pursue Gordon seriously, as Newcastle has no intention of selling him.
Even if they were open to negotiations, the transfer fee would likely be prohibitively high. Ornstein expressed confidence that Gordon would remain at Newcastle for the foreseeable future.
Gordon, who developed through the Everton academy, might find a move to Liverpool controversial due to his roots. A transfer to Manchester City, on the other hand, could be highly appealing as it would offer him the opportunity to play alongside some of the world’s best players and compete for major trophies.
Despite these attractive prospects, it might be more beneficial for Gordon to continue his development at Newcastle at this stage of his career.
Under the guidance of Eddie Howe, Gordon has shown significant growth and maturity. His game has improved steadily, and staying with Newcastle could allow him to develop further before making a move to a bigger club. This continued development is crucial for ensuring that he reaches his full potential.
Newcastle’s unwillingness to part with Gordon reflects their recognition of his value to the team. The winger’s contributions have been vital to Newcastle’s performances, and his departure would be a significant loss.
Newcastle’s management is likely to prioritize retaining such a key player as they aim to build on their recent successes and compete more aggressively in the Premier League.
